This week GISD lost a legend. Jeanese Mauldin is Buffalo Icon, giving 30 years of service to GISD. She touched the lives of many with her heart of gold. Mrs. Mauldin you will be dearly missed by the staff of GISD and Giddings community.

This past Saturday GHS UIL Students competed at the Waller High School UIL Invitational meet. Students competed against 1A-6A schools in several UIL events. Congratulations to the following winners from the meet:

Yesterday GHS hosted their annual College, Career and Military readiness fair. Students were given the opportunity to get information from a variety of colleges, technical schools and military recruiters in order for them to start thinking about their future after high school.

Wednesday the Giddings High School Welding Team traveled to Kerens to compete in the Navarro County Welding Competition. They competed against 22 other teams from across the state. In the end, Giddings placed 4th in the competition. In the Individual Jackpot Welding Competition, Kyler Giles pulled out 1st place with a winning 3F weld. Congratulations and Good Luck this Saturday at the Brazos Valley Fair Kickoff Welding Competition. Way to go Buffs!!

The Giddings High School Welding Team competed in the Waller County Fair Welding Competition. The Build Off team placed 3rd consisting of Kyler Giles,
Clay Schimank, and Austin Schmidt. Individually, several of the team members competed in the Cutting Contest.

Prior to the start of the home football game on October 13, GISD will honor long time Buffalo manager Matthew Siegmund with his forever memorial. The unveiling with start at 6:45 PM.
