The GHS Lady Buffs varsity volleyball team will compete in the Area Championship round against Lago Vista this Friday night. The match will be played at Weiss High School (Pflugerville ISD) at 6:00 PM. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. Tickets will be available at the door. No online ticketing information is available at this time.
The sub-varsity football games that were rescheduled for today have NEW START TIMES. The Freshman team will play at 5:30pm. The JV team will play at 7:00pm.
Due to the forecast for severe weather on Friday, and out of an abundance of caution, GHS football games will be moved up one day this week. Varsity will play on Thursday and sub-varsity teams will play on Wednesday. All game times will remain the same.
The Lady Buffs Volleyball Team takes on Young Women’s College Preparatory Academy tonight at Sealy High School at 5:30 PM in their Bi-District Playoff game. Please purchase your tickets for tonight's game at the following link. Go Lady Buffs!

Giddings ISD asks that students wear the school colors of Uvalde CISD (maroon & white) in support of the students of Uvalde on Tuesday, Sept. 6, as they return to school for their first day of the 2022-23 school year.

A special provision has been approved to provide free meals (breakfast and lunch) to ALL GISD students at all four campuses. This program takes effect immediately, so meals are free to all students beginning Friday, Sept. 2. This week’s varsity football game at Jarrell (Cougar Field) will have online-only ticket sales.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students.

There is a “Clear Bag Policy” in effect at the stadium.
All bags must be clear to enter the stadium and not exceed 12 inches tall by 12 inches wide by 6 inches depth. Clear one-gallon resealable plastic storage bags are approved.

Giddings ISD will be conducting its first required lock-down drill of the school year THIS MORNING, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31, at approximately 9:15am.
This is only a drill. Law enforcement agencies will be on the scene at each campus, but there is no cause for alarm.

It's a PARADE! A GISD Homecoming Parade and Community Pep Rally will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Veterans Park. Any GISD group, organization, or team is eligible to enter a float. Remember Family Impact Night is the 3rd Wednesday of each month! GISD has set aside one night per month in which all students in every grade level will not be assigned homework.
