GHS Powerlifting Win at Wildcat Invitational

Elgin Wildcat Meet – January, 28th 2023

Giddings powerlifting Boys and Girls teams traveled to Elgin to compete at the Wildcat
Powerlifting meet on Saturday January 28, 2023. There were over 267 lifters who competed at the meet in both Boys and Girls classes.

Here are the top lifters for Giddings Boys Team: 

Stevie Ray finished 1st in his wt. class with a personal best total of 695 lbs. Kooper Bloodworth finished 2nd in his class with a personal best total of 700 lbs. Ty Darnell finished 3rd in his wt. class with a total of 745 lbs. Jay Raz finished 6th in his wt. class with a total of 1310 lbs. Kevin Ramirez finished 2nd in his wt. class with a personal best total of 1445 lbs. Jusiah Sampleton finished 1st in his wt. class and the Best overall lifter in the heavy classes with a personal best mark of 1895 lbs., which is the best mark in the State of Texas in all classifications. 

Top lifters for the Girls Team:  

Lydia Boriack finished 4th in her class with a total of 330 lbs. Jaida Rodea finished 4th in her wt. class with a personal best total of 585 lbs. Kayla Herrera finished 1st in her wt. class with a personal best total and State qualifying total of 735 lbs. Reese Weiser finished 5th in her wt. class with a personal best total of 695 lbs. Avery Mueller finished 1st in her wt. class with a personal best total of 785 lbs. Jaiden Sauceda finished 1st in her class with a personal best total of 845 lbs. Persia Rodriguez finished 3rd in her wt. class with a personal best of 725 lbs. Aria Knox finished 2nd in her wt. class with a personal best and State qualifying total of 925 lbs. Adriana Garcia finished 1st in her wt. class with a personal best and State qualifying total of 1085 lbs.

Both the Giddings Boys and Girls teams finished the meet in 3rd place.

Both the boys and girls teams will be competing at the Smithville Powerlifting championship meet this Saturday, February 11,2023 in Smithville, Texas.
