The Giddings Boys and Girls Powerlifting teams traveled to compete
in the Rice Consolidated Invitational meet on Saturday, Feb. 18th, 2023. The Invitational
consisted of 10 schools and 191 lifters. The Boys team finished 3rd place and the Girls team finished in 4th place .
Top Male Lifters:
Stephen Ray finished 1st in his class with a personal best total of 745 lbs.
Kooper Bloodworth finished 1st in his class with a personal best total of 730 lbs.
Ethan Ray finished 2nd in his class with a personal best total of 1355 lbs.
Peyton Dees finished 1st in his class with a personal best total of 1230 lbs.
Top Female Lifters:
Lydia Boriack finished 3rd in her class with a total of 330 lbs.
Jaida Rodeo finished 2nd in her class with a personal best total of 610 lbs.
Christina Beard finished 3rd in her class with a personal best total of 615 lbs.
Avery Mueller finished 1st in her class with a personal best total of 835 lbs.
Ariana Ramirez finished 1st in her class with a personal best and state qualifying total of 955 lbs.
Addison Davis finished 2nd in her class with a personal best total of 805 lbs.
The Girls Regional qualifiers will compete at the Regional Championship in Dublin Texas on Friday March 3, 2023. There are 15 qualifiers for the Girls Team: Lydia Boriack, Vanessa Hernandez, Jaida Rodea, Kayla Herrera, Christina Beard, Reese Weiser, Raci Alford, Carlie Weiser, Avery Mueller, Jaiden Saucedo, Persia Rodriguez, Ariel Knox, Ariana Ramirez, Addison Davis, Adriana Garcia.
The Boys Regional Qualifiers will compete at the Regional Championship in Gatesville Texas on March 11, 2023. There are 7 qualifiers for the boys team: Stephen Ray, Kooper Bloodworth, Peyton Dees, Ethan Ray, Jay Raz, Kevin Ramirez, and Jusiah Sampleton.
