New Policy on Outside Food and Drink at GES, GIS, and GMS

Outside Food and Drink Policy for GES, GIS, and GMS Campuses

Effective August 18th, 2021, Giddings Elementary, Giddings Intermediate, and Giddings Middle Schools will no longer allow food to be delivered during school hours.

Although it has been a common practice for several years, it has become a significant distraction in our school day.

Please help us to continue providing a safe environment for our students, where they can reach their full potential with minimal disruption.

  • Remember, all students at GES, GIS, and GMS will have access to two free meals each day. We will also have a healthy snack bar available at each campus and students will be able to purchase healthy snacks during their lunch period.

  • If your child prefers to eat a home lunch, please send lunch with your student when they come to school.

  • If your son or daughter has special dietary requirements, please contact Mrs. Lisa Mendoza at the Giddings ISD Child Nutrition Department or the cafeteria manager of your child’s school. We will make sure that appropriate accommodations are made.

  • Any student who will be staying after school for an extended period of time (i.e. athletes, band students, after school program etc.) may have food delivered directly to the student after school hours. GIS and GMS Staff will not be responsible for delivering food or drink to the student

Thank you for your cooperation and support in this new initiative.
