Out of an abundance of caution, GISD Superintendent Roger Dees has declared that all Giddings ISD campuses will be closed on Monday, March 16. This includes students, faculty, and staff.
GISD Board of Trustees will hold a meeting on Monday at noon in order to discuss any additional actions to mitigate the chances of exposure of the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

Although the Texas Education Agency has not mandated statewide school closures, the UIL has announced that all activities have been cancelled until March 29. This would include all sports, academic, and other UIL sanctioned activities.
Since UIL has suspended all activities, GISD is also suspending extra-curricular and co-curricular activities such as contests and field trips.
