CHILD NUTRITION DEPARTMENT
Welcome to Chartwells @ Giddings ISD School Dining Services. Our goal is to provide the best-quality food for each student every day.
Chartwells' menus are built to support the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and use recipes that taste great and are lower in fat, saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium. Our menus also provide whole grains, fruits, vegetables and appropriate portion sizes for all age groups. We analyze our recipes for nutrient content and food values using a food-base menu planning and analysis program that complies with child nutrition guidelines for the National School Breakfast & Lunch programs.
In order to serve our students better, we offer Breakfast at all of our campuses daily to make sure students start the day off right.
Please email us anytime with questions or comments.

What this means for virtual learners: All students learning virtually will be able to continue to pick-up meal packs on Mondays from 8:45-10:30 that supplies five breakfast and five lunches for the school week!
What this means for the community: Any family with children 18 and younger can now come through our curbside site and receive five breakfast and lunches a week per child under 18 years old. Distribution is on Mondays from 8:45-10:30.

FREE and REDUCED-PRICE MEALS COMMUNITY ELIGIBILITY PROVISION (CEP)
Giddings Elementary and Giddings Intermediate schools are continuing their policy to operate the Community Eligibility Program (CEP) under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2019-2020 school year. Schools qualifying to operate CEP serve breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge and eliminate the collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price, and paid student meals. This new approach reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals.
