The Dyer and Jervis Family Scholarship Fund will present a $1,000 scholarship to a qualified student from the Ledbetter area who plans to attend either a college, university, junior college, trade, or vocational technical school. If there are no qualified students applying, the scholarship may be opened up to other applicants at the discretion of the scholarship committee. Qualifying facts will be based on, but not limited to, academic ability and financial need.

We are looking for fun and unique candidates for our Flavorful Futures Scholarship. Sparkling Ice® is awarding FIVE $5,000 scholarships to eligible high school seniors who are planning their bright and colorful futures.

General Requirements
    Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident of the United States.
    Must be a high school senior graduating between August 1, 2019 and July 31, 2020.
    Must have a cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 on a 4-point scale (high school/home school seniors).

Rejuvenation, Inc. will award THREE $1,000 scholarships.
Requirements include:
1) A short letter telling why you would like to receive the scholarship
2) Two letters of recommendation
3) Ten hours of community service at the Rejuvenation store

The JD Giddings Masonic Lodge #280 AF&AM has long been involved in public education in Giddings and the surrounding Lee County area. The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation provides scholarships to the children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen attending post–high school, undergraduate, and career technical education programs.

The foundation is the nation's oldest and largest provider of need-based scholarships to military families, and their mission is to provide scholarship support to every eligible child of a Marine or Navy Corpsmen. In the 2019-20 academic year alone, they awarded over $8.2 million to more than 2,360 students, and will provide a similar level of support in the 2020-21 academic year.

Their scholarships are for students currently pursuing, or planning to pursue, an undergraduate degree or career-focused program. Scholarship awards are need-based, and every eligible applicant receives a scholarship.

H-E-B Accepting Scholarship Applications for Texas High School Seniors

Apply by 2/14 to be eligible for a $2,000 scholarship!

For the second consecutive year, H-E-B is awarding 15 Texas High School seniors who are active in UIL Music, Athletics and/or Academics competitions AND have been active in community service initiatives with a $2,000 scholarship to their college/university of choice.

Application deadline is February 14, 2020. Recipients will be announced March 14, 2020 at the UIL Texas Boys Basketball State Championships at the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX.

Applicants must complete the online application form and submit all supporting documents before the February 1 deadline to be eligible.

Texas Farm Credit Services has a mission to support agriculture and rural communities today and tomorrow. Our customer-owned cooperative proudly offers two programs that recognize high school seniors who excel both in the classroom and their FFA chapters and 4-H clubs.

AgStudent of the Month: Each of Texas Farm Credit's 16 branches will recognize two outstanding students per month in March and April 2020. Winners will receive $100 Visa gift cards and will advance to the selection process for the Marsha Martin Scholarship.

Texas Farm Credit will be awarding SIX Marsha Martin scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each for graduating seniors who are involved in FFA or 4-H and are pursuing a college degree in an agriculture-related field of study. These SIX scholarship recipients will be selected from the monthly AgStudent of the Month winners.

2020 Fayette Electric Cooperative SCHOLARSHIPS

Fayette Electric Cooperative (FEC) will offer six $1,500 scholarships to successful applicants in 2020.

The application has been posted to the co-op’s website www.fayette.coop/scholarships where students can easily open the application in Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader. We suggest accessing the application using the latest version of Google Chrome or Internet Explorer. We have found that FireFox does not support the filling of form fields on our application.

Please make sure you are eligible before applying.
To be considered for a Fayette Electric Cooperative Scholarship, an applicant must:
    - Reside full-time in the home of a parent or legal guardian who is a FULL-TIME resident in    FEC’s service area and maintains an active FEC account
    - Attend a high school in the FEC service area or in a school district adjacent to the FEC    service area and be a graduating senior in May 2020
    - Have applied for admission as a full-time student at a state university, junior college or    technical school
 A Current Official Transcript for each applicant that has been dated, signed and seal embossed by the school should be provided.

Please remember to proofread your application and use the checklist on page nine to make sure all attachments are included before mailing the scholarship packet to Fayette Electric Cooperative. Incomplete applications will not be considered for the Rural Scholarship Program.

Scholarship Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on March 2, 2020. If mailing the application, please allow adequate time for delivery.

2020 Colorado Valley Independent Cattlemen's Association Scholarships

The Colorado Valley Independent Cattlemen’s Association supports area farmers, ranchers, and others involved in agricultural related businesses. The organization is also strongly supportive of Texas youth, especially those with an interest in agriculture. This commitment to our future, our youth, is evident at both state and local levels of the I.C.A.

The purpose of this scholarship is to offer financial assistance to a qualified applicant of a Colorado Valley area high school who will be attending an institution of higher learning. The applicant should have a sound academic record, be of good character, and demonstrate financial need. Leadership qualities, school activities, and community involvement will be considered.

Applicants (or their parents or grandparents) must be current paid supporters of the Colorado Valley I.C.A., and preference may be given to those applicants who are planning a course of study in agriculture or agricultural-related fields, or a vocational related field.

The Colorado Valley I.C.A. are planning to award both Academic scholarships, and vocational scholarships; through the Colorado Valley ICA Chapter, along with the support of the ByBee Foundation of Roundtop, TX, and the Family of Carl Wendler a founding member of the ICA.
Eligibility Requirements

To receive a scholarship an applicant must (1) be a graduate of a Colorado Valley Area High Schools (Colorado, Fayette, and Lee counties). (2) Students must have parents or grandparents who are current paid supporters* of the Colorado Valley I.C.A. by or before 02/16/2019. They must be a member for 12 months prior to applying for scholarship. (Note* Memberships received after this date will not be eligible until 2020) or be a member of the STATE ICA. (3) The student must have applied for admission as a full-time student in a recognized institution of higher learning (college, technical, or vocational). (4) The student must maintain a grade point average above the level that would result in scholastic probation. (5) The student must complete the Application procedure.

*A paid supporter is defined as an individual who has elected to be a map sponsor, either individually or through their business. (Note: State ICA members are automatically considered to be CVICA members).

2020 Lee county junior livestock show scholarship

The Lee County Junior Livestock Show will provide scholarships annually. The student must be a member of the Texas FFA or 4-H clubs at the time of graduation.

The candidate must be a high school senior who will graduate by the spring semester following the presentation of the scholarship.

Candidates will be confined to those who enroll in a college, university, or technical school above the high school level.

Selection of the scholarship will be based on participation in (1.) 4-H or FFA and the Lee County Junior Livestock Show. Also the applicant’s (2.) Leadership, (3.) Citizenship, (4.) need, and (5.) academics. Emphasis will be based on the listed order.

The Lee County Junior Livestock Show Board of Directors will be responsible for selecting the recipients and will determine the amount of the scholarship. The minimum amount of the scholarship will be $1,000 for a school year.

The Eugene McDermott Scholars Program

McDermott Scholars receive one of the most selective and generous undergraduate merit awards in the nation; it includes a full scholarship and stipend package with access to UT Dallas’ rigorous education, leadership training, cultural enrichment, and personalized opportunities designed to equip them with the skills, experience, and confidence to succeed as leaders.

There's still time to help qualified students apply for The Eugene McDermott Scholars Program at The University of Texas at Dallas.

The McDermott Scholars Program supports students who excel in scholarship, leadership, service and character with exceptional educational and extracurricular experiences. Read all about it from the students' perspectives in the McDermott Blog.

The McDermott application deadline is Dec. 12, 2019. Applicants should also submit their application to UT Dallas by Dec. 1, 2019. Finalists will be invited to attend selection weekend Feb. 27-March 1, 2020, at UT Dallas.


APIA Scholarship

The APIA Scholarship is open to Asian and Pacific Islander American students who'll be enrolling or are currently enrolled in a U.S. accredited college or university as a degree-seeking undergraduate student in the fall of 2020. This year's application opened on September 4, 2019, and closes on January 22, 2020. Learn more about the application process and minimum eligibility criteria.

Cooke College Scholarship Program

Scholarships can open doors for students who aspire to go to college but don't have the funds. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation provides one of the largest scholarships in the country for high-achieving students with financial need.

The Cooke College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's best four-year colleges and universities. In addition to the monetary award, Cooke scholars receive comprehensive educational advising, significant cohort-based programming, and graduate school funding, as well as access to a thriving network of more than 2,600 fellow Cooke scholars and alumni.

The Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program application (exclusively through the Common App) closes November 13, 2019.

Ron Brown Scholarship

African American high school seniors are encouraged to apply for the Ron Brown Scholarship by either the early deadline of November 1, 2019, or the regular deadline of January 9, 2020. Named for the late secretary of commerce and inspired by his dedication to public service, the Ron Brown Scholar Program offers a $40,000 scholarship to up to 30 African American high school seniors each year based on academic excellence and commitment to public service. Recipients are young African Americans of outstanding promise who are offered intensive mentorship, service opportunities, leadership experiences, and extensive professional development throughout all stages of their careers.

Applications must be mailed to the Ron Brown Scholar Program office with a postmark dated no later than January 9, 2020. For more information about the Ron Brown Scholarship, please visit their website.

Guided Pathway Support Program

The Ron Brown Scholar Program is also accepting applications from African American juniors and seniors for its Guided Pathway Support Program (GPS).
Launched in 2016, GPS is a free online college access and advising program that helps African American high school juniors and seniors navigate the college application process using Ron Brown scholars as guides. Each year, GPS offers 10–12 scholarships to participating high school seniors based on contributions to the GPS online college access community, academic achievement, and demonstrated leadership.
