As you may have already heard. Governor Gregg Abbott has extended school closures until May 4th. Giddings Intermediate administrators, teachers, and staff are committed to continue to provide a quality education to our students during this school closure. We will continue to provide activities and lessons through Google Classrooms or paper packets (for those students who do not have internet access). Paper packet pick up is on Tuesday from 9:00-12:00 each week.
Starting Tuesday, April 7th, GIS school email addresses of teachers will be provided with the paper packets. Students who are doing paper packets will take a picture of their completed paper packet work and email it to the corresponding teacher (see below for simple text-to-email instructions). Students who have been participating and turning work in through Google Classroom will continue to turn work in as they have been doing.
In keeping with the 2019-2020 GISD calendar, there will be no lessons posted on Friday, April 10th and Monday, April 13th. This is in observance of the Easter Holiday. Classes (via Google Classroom) will resume on Tuesday, April 14th. Paper packet pick up will be available that day as well at the regular time.
We miss our daily interactions with all of our GIS students. Their safety and health continue to be a top priority for us. Now more than ever, it is important that we practice Social Distancing and other safety guidelines set by the CDC.

How to take a picture and turn completed paper packet work into classroom teacher:
1) Turn on your text message application
2) Enter the recipients email address instead of their phone number
3) Compose your text message (please include the first and last name of student)
4) Send
It is that simple. Your cell phone carrier will convert the text message to an email.
