The Knox Learning Center is an educational facility that allows the students of the Giddings Independent School District an alternative learning process outside the normal realm of the High School Classroom.
The Knox Learning Center is available for students who wish to accelerate their studies and complete their course work early. It allows the District to address students at risk who may have fallen behind in achieving the required credits toward graduation. The Center also offers a GED program for students who have either left school or just need the opportunity to complete a level of high school achievement.
The Knox Learning Center provides core and elective courses with a small student-teacher ratio which gives students the advantage of more direct instruction, close supervision, and leadership.
Also under the supervision of the Knox Learning Center, the GAP(Giddings Alternative Placement) is administrated. The GAP is provided by the District for Discipline Learning for any student that is unable to adjust to the normal public school education. The students are required to maintain their course load and are required to meet certain criteria before being allowed to return to the mainstream educational programs of the Giddings Independent School District.
